It’s been over two years since new music by Face-T was last heard on reggae loving dancefloors. On March 27th, the world-class singer will storm the stage at Le Belmont and present his first independently-released EP, entitled EP1. Accompanied by a new 5 piece band, he will fill the room with his roaring voice and electrifying energy for a 90 min set.

“A powerful singing voice and a knack for lyrics”The Guardian
“Definitely one of Canada’s best contemporary reggae artists”Exclaim!

It took two years for Face-T to craft his latest effort. Poirier was the executive producer of EP1 which also features beats by the Glaswegian sound system warriors Mungo’s Hi Fi, Polish reggae ambassador Dreadsquad, Montreal’s own Scorpio B, along with the dancehall lord himself, Poirier. EP1 marks the beginning of a new cycle of releases, paving the way for the eventual release of EP2.

Montreal born, the Jamaican raised Face-T first appeared on the music scene in 2002 with his group Kulcha Connection who gained major radio success and released two albums in Canada and in France. He then started to work and tour with DJ/producer Poirier (Mixpak, Ninja Tune, Man Recordings), which gave birth to soundclash tunes like “Wha-La-La-Leng” and “Enemies“, as well as a collaboration with electro kings Crookers on “Arena“. In 2012, Face-T’s “We Rule The Area feat. Mikey Dangerous” got the “remix treatment” by established names like Mungo’s Hi Fi, Dreadsquad and Dubmatix.
